You do not need to be enrolled in one of our medical plans to take advantage of the following programs to improve health.

Frontdoor is pleased to offer three additional voluntary benefits plans through Prudential: Accident Insurance, Critical Illness Insurance and Hospital Indemnity Insurance.

The plans complement your health insurance by paying cash directly to you in addition to any benefits you receive from your medical plan. For additional information and plan documents including Benefits Summaries, visit the Benefits Plan Documents page.

Accident Insurance

Injuries occurring off the job can be protected with Prudential Accident Insurance. This plan is designed to pay cash directly to you. This additional cash support can be used to help pay any out-of-pocket expenses related to your injury. Payments are made tax-free, to be used at your discretion so you can stay financially stable and focus on getting better.

Critical Illness Insurance

There can be a lot of expenses associated with a critical illness, and a major medical plan may not cover them all. Critical Illness Insurance with Prudential pays cash directly to you upon a diagnosis (e.g., Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, coma, heart attack, stroke).

You have the option to select the tiered coverage amount of your choice, with certain pre-existing condition limitations. The policy will cover associates for diagnosed conditions on or after coverage effective date. And, if you leave Frontdoor, the coverage is portable, and the rates will remain unchanged.

  • Associates can elect from two coverage tiers on a guaranteed-issue basis: $15,000 or $30,000 (i.e., any multiple of $15,000 but not less than $15,000 and not more than $30,000).
  • Spouse coverage can be elected up to 100% of the associate coverage amount.
  • Eligible dependent children are automatically included with associate coverage at 50% of the associate’s elected coverage amount at no extra cost. You must enroll your dependent children via Workday to receive this free coverage.
  • An associate must elect coverage for themself for dependents to receive coverage.
  • The rate will change based on your age band. If you move from one age band to another age band, the rate increase will be reflected on the 1st of the month of the following plan year (January 1).

Anna’s life was turned upside down when she suffered a heart attack, which was followed by a stroke only a month later. Not only did she miss work, but so did her husband to help her during her recovery. Their income took a hit, and bills piled up. Anna had enrolled in Prudential’s Critical Illness plan with a $30,000 benefit amount per diagnosis. She received a total benefit payment of $60,000 in her family’s greatest time of need.

Hospital Indemnity Insurance

Hospital Indemnity Insurance with Prudential provides financial assistance when you’re admitted to the hospital, supplementing your medical coverage. Associates can use the benefit for any out-of-pocket expenses and extra bills. You must be in in the hospital for at least 24 hours (i.e., you will not receive a benefit payout if your hospital stay is less than 24 hours) before you can start receiving this benefit. Benefits are paid directly to you for a variety of medical services (e.g., hospital admissions, daily in-hospital stays, intensive care unit (ICU) admission, high-risk pregnancy benefit or mental illness).

  • By enrolling in Accident or Critical Illness Insurance, your coverage includes a health screening benefit (i.e., a preventive
exam) of $50 for Accident and $50 for Critical Illness Insurance that is payable once per calendar year.
  • You can keep the financial protection your Accident, Critical Illness and/or Hospital Indemnity Insurance offers without interruption (i.e., your rates will remain unchanged) even if your employment has been terminated or your hours have been reduced.
