- For other services, you need to meet a deductible and then share the cost with the plan.
- If you need dental work, consider asking your dentist for a pre-treatment estimate to help you understand what the plan may pay and what you may owe before treatment begins.
- 3
If you need orthodontia
Only the Buy-Up PPO covers orthodontic expenses for adults and children at 50%, up to the lifetime maximum.
- 4

Stay on top of your health
Regular dental care does more than protect your smile. Routine exams can help prevent dental problems and may identify signs of other health conditions early, such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease and kidney disease. Preventive care is also covered without a deductible, making it easier to stay on top of your oral health.
Find an in-network dentist
You’ll save when you use a dentist in the Delta Dental network. Both Delta Dental PPO and Delta Dental Premier providers offer reduced fees, with PPO providers offering the greatest savings.
Use Delta Dental’s online search or mobile app to find an in-network dentist near you.
Know your cost before you get care
Planning a more expensive dental procedure? Ask your dentist to request a pre-treatment estimate from Delta Dental before your care begins. You’ll get an estimate of what your plan may cover and what you may pay.
A pre-treatment estimate can be especially helpful if you:
- Are considering extensive dental work
- Want to understand your coverage or plan limits
- Want an estimate of your out-of-pocket cost
There’s no cost to request an estimate, and it typically takes 10–14 business days to process.
