Enroll for benefits
There are three opportunities to enroll for benefits. See below for details.
New hire enrollment
Welcome to our team! As a new associate, you and your family members are eligible for coverage on the first day of your employment. You must enroll immediately on the day of your date of hire for the Mediclaim benefits. You can also choose to cover the following dependents.
- Your spouse
- Two dependent children up to the age of 25
- Two dependent parents up to the age of 80
Open Enrollment
Open enrollment is your yearly opportunity to review your current benefits and make changes for the upcoming plan year. During open enrollment, you can add, change or decline coverage. You can also add or drop family members for coverage during this time. Your next opportunity to make changes (unless you experience a qualifying life event) is in December of next year.
Changes in your benefits mid-year
Associates can make changes to their benefits elections throughout the year when they experience a qualifying life event through the ILTakeCare Application. Examples of qualified life events include:
- Change of legal marital status (e.g., marriage, divorce, death of spouse or legal separation)
- Change in number of dependents (e.g., birth, adoption, death of dependent ineligibility due to age)
- Change in employment
- Termination of employment (benefits terminate on the last day of the employment contract)
ILTakeCare App
The ILTakeCare app has a variety of features that can help you and your family manage your healthcare, including:
- Telehealth visits — get two free telehealth visits through Hello Doctor
- Covid-19 risk assessment tool — assess your risk for Covid-19, access important safety information and details on ICMR website (such as labs, FAQs, etc.)
- Trackers — use diet and exercise trackers along with sleep, meditation and water reminders
- Chat with an Expert — chat with an expert on weight loss, fitness, stress management and much more
- Electronic Health Record — store up to 1GB of your most important health information in one place
- Health Assistance — guides for doctors’ office appointments, second opinions, facilitating hospitalization and post-hospitalization services

Employee Assistance Program
We partner with Magellan Healthcare to provide an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to help you and your family members find solutions and resources to tackle life’s challenges.
Overview
From simple questions such as quick ways to de-stress or how to find more time in your schedule, to more difficult issues such as finding support after the loss of a loved one, this program is there to work with you and offers suggestions, options and information.
EAP counselors will confidentially discuss challenges you and your family may be facing and provide you with consultation, information, action plans and resources within your community. Magellan Healthcare’s work-life balance EAP offers unlimited access to master’s level counselors by telephone, resources and tools online and up to five face-to-face visits with a consultant to help with a short-term problem.
