How it works

  1. 1

    Make sure you’re eligible.

You can contribute to an HSA when you’re enrolled in the Basic or Enhanced CDHP and meet IRS eligibility requirements.

You can’t contribute to an HSA if you’re:

    • Covered by a non-HSA eligible medical plan (like the PPO) or health reimbursement arrangement
    • Using a Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
    • Eligible to be claimed as a dependent on someone else’s tax return
    • Enrolled in Medicare, TRICARE or TRICARE For Life
  2. 2

    Choose how much to save.

    • Alight Smart-Choice Accounts (opens in a new tab) will open an account for you at UMB Bank. You’ll receive an HSA debit card and account information in the mail.
    • Contribute to your HSA through tax-free payroll deductions or directly to your account, up to IRS annual limits. Log in to Workday to set or update your contribution amount anytime.
    • Frontdoor contributes to your HSA, too. Your contributions and Frontdoor’s contributions combined cannot exceed the IRS annual limit.

    Save for the future.
